More on Outsourcing a Business Blogger

A while ago…. I wrote a post titled: "Blogger for hire - a good business practice or not?, which provoked some good discussion with some of my colleagues and industry friends. I have reflected on this topic some more lately and I am more convinced that Outsourcing Blog writing for my business can actually be a very good practice.

But, as I have considered the possibility of doing some outsourcing with my own blogs, I am convinced that it is a good practice, BUT (a big BUT), not wise to completely remove yourself from the blog entirely. In other words, it is very important to have yourself or someone in your company still writing, submitting comments to your audience on a regular basis as well. So, while you might have a part-time blogger providing 2-3 posts a week for you, I think it is important to provide a least 1-2 posts yourself as this helps you to keep connected and  in-tune with your audience.

I think it is also important to be transparent about your blogging practices - in other words, It is not good practice to have a ghostwriter that is writing under your name - that is not exactly promoting authentic dialogue:)! It is good to simply present to your audience the new writer that will be contributing to your blog along with yourself.

Again, statistics have indicated that the growth of blogs will level out in 2007; however, business blogging will continue to grow at a fast pace! Hence, the demand for savvy, skilled and versatile business bloggers!

Useful Resources for Business Blogging

As I have mentioned in previous posts, I believe that Business Blogging trends are going to grow significantly throughout 2007. While general blogging trends are slowing in growth, it seems that business blogging is just starting to hit it’s stride.

I came across a good post from Andy Beal’s Marketing Pilgrim, that gave a decent overview of some worthwhile blogging resources to tap into.  From his list, I would like to add two other resources that you might also find helpful in your business blogging endeavors. Debbie Weil’s Corporate Blogging Book and Business Blog are excellent resources. Her book is an easy and interesting read with some very good insights and tips for your business blog. Also, I would check onebyonemedia’s blog for a whole wealth of information and posts on business blog writing, strategy and promotion.
